FATE on Tour in Spain – Project results
Ten days of exchange have come to an end, and what a ten days it has been!
Atalaya Centro TNT put together an amazing program for partners ZID Theater, Studio 7 – Theater, Dah Teatar and Social Community Theatre Centre. Besides representatives and performers from all organizations, also the Dutch and Spanish participants of the FATE trainingsprogramme were present.
Saturday, after a full day of rehearsals, all partners met for the kick-off conference, followed by the wholesome ‘Terra’ by Dah Teatar and powerful ‘Sueños en Travesía’ by the FATE participants of Atalaya Tnt / Andanzas, finished off by a lively dinner party. Sunday another full day of rehearsals was rewarded by two intense performances: ‘Crianças’ by Studio 7 and ‘NO FEAR’ by the FATE group of ZID Theater.
On Monday FATE participants and partners visited the Real Alcazar together, while some rehearsed and attended meetings. On Tuesday the two FATE groups travelled off to the great theatre of Centro Cultural De La Villa – Sa Jose De La Rinconada, to deliver two strong performances that night. On Wednesday the participants woke early again to the Universidad Pablo de Olavide for a tour, conference, a screening of the personal documentary about the FATE project of Jan Matar, presentation of the new performance by Cultura Pablo de Olavide – UPO, artistic exchange with the students and tear-wrecking show of HISTORIA by FATE participant Issam Zemmouri.
On Thursday the group visited the Escuela Superior de Arte Dramático de Sevilla and Conservatory for a tour, mesmerizing Mimo and puppetry workshop, artistic exchange and presentation by Atalaya centre. Friday the Dutch and Spanish FATE group went to Centro Cultural “La Atarazana”, Bormujos for their two final performances. We wanted to make this night extra special, and surprised the locals with a theatrical parade outside to invite them to the shows. The weekend was all about broadening horizons and visiting the MITIN festival, where we experienced theatre about sexuality, war, identity and gender, while some others treated the city of Sevilla with street performances.
We are grateful for the amazing organization by Atalaya Centro Tnt, ongoing positive anergy of the participants, full support of all the partners and Creative Europe for making this amazing project possible.
